Prenatal Support

My prenatal appointments are a chance for us to truly connect and lay the foundation for your birth, making sure we’re in sync before labor begins. In these unhurried sessions, you’ll have space to share your hopes, values, and past experiences that shape what you want this time.

Together, we’ll review your birth preferences so you feel clear and confident in your options. We’ll also practice comfort measures, positions, and strategies that can ease intensity during labor. If you have a support person, we will explore the ways they will be involved so you both feel confident using the tools at hand in the moment.

These sessions often include a “labor rehearsal,” where we walk through different stages of labor and practice techniques like counter-pressure, massage, movement, and breathing. This gives you the chance to discover what feels most supportive and become familiar with the options available to you.

My goal is for you to feel informed, prepared, and reassured — not just in theory, but in practice — as you get ready to welcome your baby.

Labor & Birth Support

When labor begins, I’ll be by your side offering continuous support. This might look like hands-on comfort measures, including: massage, counter-pressure, movement and positioning, breathing techniques, peanut and/or birth ball usage, hydrotherapy, and trained use of a TENS unit.

Because labor can be overwhelming and fast-moving, the emotional support I provide will be steady and grounding. I’ll offer clear information and non-judgmental guidance to help you process information as it comes. If procedures or options arise, I’ll discuss them with you in real time so you can make choices that feel informed and aligned with your values. My role is to protect your sense of safety, confidence, and agency as your birth unfolds.

My support is always tailored to what feels best for you in the moment, and will shift and change in line with your specific needs. I’ll also support your partner, helping them feel confident and involved so the two of you can move through labor as a team.

Postpartum Support

The early weeks after birth—the “fourth trimester”—are tender and transformative. In our visits, I provide a safety net for you and your family, blending emotional care, newborn guidance, and practical support so you can focus on healing and bonding.

In our first visit, we will review discharge instructions and help you recognize important postpartum warning signs (such as excessive bleeding, headaches, or mood changes) so you are safe and supported between provider appointments. I will also offer guidance with feeding and social support to help with the adjustments to life with a new baby.

Postpartum care also includes space to process your birth. In a later visit, we revisit your birth story together, reviewing notes to help you understand the timeline, procedures, and what was helpful—giving you clarity, not just impressions. This can ease lingering questions and support emotional healing.

Throughout, I provide gentle screening and referrals if extra support is needed—whether that’s for feeding challenges, perinatal mood concerns, or connecting you with local resources and communities. My goal is to make sure you never feel alone in this season: cared for, informed, and truly supported as you step into parenthood.
